What these are
These are original papers written for Everything SATS. They are not real past papers. They copy the layout of the real tests: the same number of questions and marks, the same kinds of question, and the same mix of topics, based on the last five years of real papers. So a practice run here feels like the real thing.
Want the real government papers too? They are all on the Past Papers page.
How to use them
- Print the paper, and keep the answer booklet to one side. The answers are in a separate file so they don't get seen by accident.
- There's no need to time yourself. Each cover gives the real test's time limit for information, but practising without a clock is fine.
- The spelling test needs an adult. The sentences to read aloud are in the answer booklet, under "Paper 2 spelling script".
- Marking: the answer booklet gives every answer, and for the 2-mark maths questions it says when to give 1 mark for a correct method.
English: reading
Each mock has a reading booklet with three texts and a question booklet with 40 questions worth 50 marks. Print both: the texts are read from one booklet and the answers written in the other, just like the real test.
English: grammar, punctuation and spelling
Each mock has Paper 1 (50 questions, 50 marks) and Paper 2 (a 20-word spelling test).
