π¨ Reading Background Colour
Some people find a different background colour more comfortable to read on than white β the same idea as coloured overlays or tinted exercise books some schools use. Try one and see what feels best for you. There's no wrong answer, and you can change back any time.
White
Cream
Blue
Green
Rose
Grey
Honest note: research on coloured backgrounds and reading is actually mixed β they're not a proven fix for dyslexia specifically, but they're completely harmless and some people genuinely find them more comfortable. Worth trying if white feels too bright or "busy" to read.
π΅ Calming Sounds
Play a soft background sound any time you like β while revising, or just for a moment of calm.
β Got a question?
We read everything β from parents, teachers and kids alike. If the button below doesn't open your email app (that only works if you have one set up on this device), just copy the address instead.
A lot of SATs revision costs money β some sites charge Β£20 a month. That's not fair on families who can't afford it, so everything here is free, for good.
Kids learn differently. Some are autistic, some have ADHD, some are dyslexic, some are just starting out, some are ready to be pushed further β so there are four difficulty levels, no timers anywhere, gentle break reminders, and a reading colour option for anyone who finds white pages hard to read.
None of it is a cure or a trick. It's just trying to make sure a child never looks at a page and thinks "I can't do this" before they've even started.
Every choice above is based on real published research too β quizzes instead of passive reading, no timer, spaced daily review, the Curiosity Corner fun facts, even the Look-Cover-Write-Check spelling method β not guesswork. See the full Research & References page for every source, including where the evidence is more mixed than we'd like it to be.
π Why free, forever
Some SATs revision sites charge around Β£20 a month. That means how much practice a child gets can depend on what their family can afford, not on how much they need it β and that gap shows up in the exam hall. We didn't think that was fair, so there's no price tag here at all.
A child who leaves primary school confident with numbers, reading and grammar carries that forward for years β it shapes secondary school, further study, and eventually the working world. Educated children become adults who can think clearly, make good decisions and contribute more, whatever path they take. That benefits all of us, not just the individual child β so it's worth investing in properly, for everyone, not just those who can pay.
There are no ads here, and nothing is sold β see the privacy notice for exactly what that means. Hosting it is free, because it's just HTML and JavaScript with no backend, so there's never a server bill that could force a subscription later. The only real cost is time: writing the reading passages, building the questions and checking every answer. It's free because it should be, and that isn't changing.
If it has helped your child or your class and you'd like to say thank you for that time, you can chip in on Ko-fi β. It's completely optional, it never unlocks anything, and the site stays exactly the same for everyone either way.
