🎚️ Mixing Decks

A two-deck mixer that runs entirely in your browser. Add your own tracks (or a video's sound), crossfade between decks, adjust speed and tone, tap tempo. Nothing is ever uploaded anywhere.

❓ How to use Mixing Decks

Getting started

  • βž• Add Track loads a song (or any video's sound) into that deck's library. Tap a track in the list to load it onto the deck.
  • 🎧 next to any track previews it independently β€” it won't disturb what's playing on the decks.

Waveform & BPM

  • A waveform is drawn automatically after a track loads β€” tap or click anywhere on it to jump there.
  • BPM is detected automatically a moment after loading (labelled "auto"). If a track's beat is unclear, tap πŸ‘† Tap Tempo in time with the music instead β€” at least 4 taps.

Cues, loops & sync

  • Cue 1–4: first tap sets a marker at the current position, second tap jumps straight there. Clear cues resets all four.
  • πŸ”‚ 4 / 8 / 16 beats: instantly loops that many beats from wherever the track is playing, using its BPM.
  • πŸ”„ Sync Deck B to Deck A: matches B's speed to A's BPM and nudges its beat to line up β€” fine-tune by ear afterwards.

Tone & FX

  • Speed / Bass / Treble control playback rate and simple EQ per deck.
  • Filter: centre is off β€” drag left for a closing lowpass sweep, right for an opening highpass sweep (classic build/drop effect).
  • Echo / Reverb: 0 is off; raise for more effect. Great on the outgoing track during a transition.

Crossfader & recording

  • The Crossfader blends between Deck A and Deck B.
  • ⏺ Record the Mix captures exactly what you hear β€” both decks, the crossfader position and all FX β€” and gives you a file to download when you stop.

Audio routing (headphones + speakers at once)

  • Tap Show my devices once to see your speakers and headphones by name.
  • The deck mix plays through both Speakers and Headphones at once, each with its own volume slider β€” turn one down without affecting the other. Set Preview to your headphones to cue up the next track privately while the crowd hears the current mix.
  • Without this, plugging in headphones can silently become your computer's new default output for everything.
